Founder and Creative Director, Nesrine Khemiri, tapped creative powerhouse and former Harper's Bazaar Digital Fashion Director, Kerry Pieri, to reproduce her favorite Nessy Khem sunglass styles into 3 exclusive fashion color ways. The duo drew inspiration from their shared experiences navigating the concrete jungle and fashion industry, stating that this collection is an ode to the women of New York.
Before being a collaborator, Kerry was already a loyal customer of Nessy Khem's eyewear. She remarks, "I was a fan of your sunglasses and thought they were cool, but our relationship at that
time was purely based on aesthetics.” In the early stages of the collaboration, Kerry explains that she and Nessy bonded over their shared fascination with the spiritual world and exploring themselves through practices such as meditation and journaling.
Both women were inspired by natural elements and the dark green hues in nature, resulting in the unique green color way lenses in this collection. Kerry observes, "Style for both of us is about expression and the balance of internal and external forces." The design of the sunglasses is made to be elegant in the simplicity of high-quality material. Each pair is matte acetate with minimal hardware.
Nessy muses, "I envision these glasses worn by the independent, the Mentor woman, the woman on the go. Women who are mothers, hustlers. They feel confident and secure wearing the essential signature of Nessy Khem collections. I want every pair to become an extension of them, and to become an essential piece in their travels and memories. By designing unisex luxury eyewear, I want to highlight the individuality of any wearer and elevate their unique self."
To celebrate the launch of the collaborative collection, Nessy Khem & Kerry Pieri hosted an intimate dinner party at La Mercerie in SOHO with close friends and tastemakers. Each guest received the first pair of sunglasses from the new collection in their gift bag which are numbers from 1 to 50 for each model as a unique touch. Notable guests in attendance included Alyssa Vingan, Editor-in-Chief of Nylon, Cassie Anderson, Fashion Director of Cosmopolitan, and Kristen Nichols, Senior Editor of Who What Wear.
